STEAM BANANA CAKE

BÁNH CHUỐI HẤP






VIETNAMESE STEAM BANANA CAKE FOR LUDIA .
Ingredient:
1 cup tapioca flour (rooster brand)
1 Tbsp sweet potato starch (picture show below)
1 cup water
2 Tbsp sugar or more if you want sweeter
3-4 riped bananas
few drops yellow colour (optional)
Method:
1- Slice all bananas
2- In bowl mix flour + sugar + water until smooth
3- Add bananas + food colour and mix well .
4 -Pour in nonstick pan and steam in medium heat about 15 minutes .
5- Once cook it should have smooth and clear texture .
6- Let it cool and serve .

COCONUT MILK SAUCE :
1- 1 can coconut milk ( I used Aroy brand is good)
2- 1 Tbsp rice flour
3- salt and sugar to taste
Mix first two ingredients together, bring to boil.Add sugar and little salt taste .
SERVE:
Cut banana cake in piece or wedges and pour sauce on top and garnish with little toast peanut .

Hi Lily,
English is fine. Aslo I would like to ask you whether I can get the rosette mould for Banh Nhung ( Thai Cookie) in Calgary or not. I had a mould that's smaller and different shape. Thanks again for your generous sharing the recipe.

Hi Ludia,
Banh Nhung Khuon is a gift from my friend from USA ,she bought from Thai store .
I don't think we can find in Calgary , I have small one (vietnames mould) it is ok to make but take long time to do .
