I'M BACK ( MY JOURNAL ABOUT THE TRIP )

ALAN WONG WEBSITE

CHEF ALAN WONG PIC

My husband made dinner reservation at Alan Wong restaurant on King Street. My husband is a big fan of Alan Wong work since he came across Alan Wong's New Wave Luau cook book. Alan Wong is a master in Hawaiian Regional Cuisine, his blend of Western and Eastern cuisine and he make good uses of fresh local ingredients. From the moment we arrived the services that was provided was excellent. His servers was very attentive, everytime we get up someone would come by and refold your napkins. They even provide the same attention to my children (age 5 and 7). We sat at the Chef's counter, we were very impress with the entire kitchen crew. Everyone knew what they were doing. Even though they were very steady, the atmosphere was very upbeat and relax. The crew looked like they were having fun. My husband order;

Because it was my birthday I was provided a beautiful dessert plate on the house along with a menu sign by the entire staff. The pastry chef had beautiful writing. Please refer to picture, you'll see.

Overall the food was wonderful and the presentation on each plate was amazing. This was one of the highlight of our trip.

INTERNATION MARKET

The majority of the shop owner here at the International Market are mostly Korean, Chinese, Vietnamese and Thai. Some of the Korean shops very nice and polite but you have to walk around to check the prices, don't buy right away. Because all products here sell with different prices. You have to really bargain. BUYER BEWARE!! One Vietnamese owner of the gift shop ( FAVANT MARKET,SPACE 114 ) it is located inside the International market, she have a total of 3 shops. She is extremely rude and ignorant to customer. So don't visit there, I don't like her service at all .

VIEW FROM THE STREET

This flower i don't know what it name but it's bloom every where on the street .

On the way to Outlet shopping center we pass by the water crest farm in the middle of no where. It's so wonderful, it reminded of home(Vietnam).

This is summer flower, it only bloom for a short time mostly during summer months. When I saw it, remind me of Vietnam. This flower normally bloom when students have summer break .

This flower is everywhere at Hawaii, it's smell good and pretty .

This is call Hawaii breakfast from McDonald, it's different because it came with rice instead hash brown .

This breakfast is at Planet Hollywood, the restaurant was one block away from our hotel so we tried it out. There was nothing special, the only highlight of the dish was the pineapple, it's so sweet .

My first restaurant that we had lunch was at Fattys'Chinese Kitchen. I recognize the name because I had read comments about this restaurant before I left online. The food was OK and price was very reasonable. The Restaurant was located very close to International Market and where we stayed. I ordered the Malaysian Fried Noodle, Chow Phanh and Roast Pork and rice. The place was very small it only had about 10 seats and the food is prepared in front of you.

CHOW PHANH

MALAYSIAN FRIED NOODLE

ROAST PIG AND RICE

Thanks for coming by and visiting my blog. It looks like you had a great trip and did lots of fun stuff. Alan Wong's is one of my very favorite places and it looks like you and your husband had many of my favorite dishes. I always get the ginger crusted onaga and love the duck nachos too.
